Scotland Willis:

Welcome to my namesake web site.  I established this site to allow my followers to interact with my activities/ projects, and communicate with me as time goes on.

Social Networks and Technology Today's technology is especially interesting to me as my background is in systems thinking(not computer systems); as such I am tremendously interested in human networks, causal factors in how they interact and why.  Technology provides the opportunity to expand our ability to communicate and enhance our social networks- I find this fascinating.  What's so interesting is how fast our thinking is evolving and being influenced by what is occurring around the world and how collective knowledge is influencing that.  The human experience is a true gift and I take great pleasure in immersing myself in it across so many borders, through so many elements.  Readers who follow my blog (looking4Answers), for example, span the entire globe, that comes with a tremendous responsibility to be honest, open to learning, and thoughtful in my opinion.  If others are going to refer to my insights, I owe them a fair opportunity to explore all view points by ensuring they have access to references to qualify or disqualify my perspective.

Simple philosophy of life-  Be happy and protect the natural environment.  My main objective is to be happy. How? Identify at least 10 things that make me happy; promises myself I will do at least one of them every day; result... I will spend the rest of my life being happy.  I committed to this a couple of years ago, and the rate at which my personal happiness is expanding is extraordinary.   Protecting the natural environment is a significant part of my lifestyle from composting to working towards being off the grid- this makes me happy as well.

All that being said, what follows is a list of projects I am working on.  There will be interactive opportunities for those who might be interested.  Crowdsourcing is a powerful tool in technology.  More importantly it furthers human interaction, which I fully appreciate.  I look forward to your feedback and interaction.

Sincerely,
Scotland

Projects (3) (description and status)

Seed© (in progress chapter 1)Pentology(Fic.) Novel about the reprise of the natural environment and the human dilemma of evolution over self preservation.  Seed explores human nature, and how we compete with forces greater than ourselves.  How to get involved.  I will periodically send out the manuscripts for input to a limited number of individuals randomly selected responses.  I will essentially use a survey (e.g. Survey Monkey) to partially determine the direction of the chapters from peoples input.  My objective is to hone in on people's creative thinking while demonstrating the advantage of social networking contributions.  This is my most prized project as I have invested so much of myself in developing the story.

Peering Into the Future © (in progress, research & interviews: Writing project assessing the impact, implications and phenomena of peer-to-peer networks.
